FAQs

While we don’t take appointments for haircuts, Birds works on a Day Of waitlist. Clients can walk in during regular business hours or call ahead to be placed on the wait list. Everyone gets a cold Shiner beer and we’ve got free wi-fi and old arcade games to pass the time.

With Birds’ Day Of waitlist, clients can get in to see their preferred stylist more quickly by calling ahead. You can also walk in and request a stylist, but that may take longer. Here are our stylist schedules.

Yes! Birds is one stop for the whole family. From the first haircut to a back to school hairdo, we've got juniors covered.

Our haircut prices vary based on length of hair. Here is our service menu.

Color is the only service we take appointments for. You can make color appointments Monday-Friday, 11am-5pm. Price of color services depends on the service provided. Please give us a call to set up a free consultation with one of our expert colorists.

Birds has eight Austin area locations as well as one Houston location. The address along with hours of operation can be found here.

We carry a wide range of products including our own line, Verb Products.

Our Approach

Getting a haircut shouldn’t be a chore. When everyone’s invited, the party’s more fun. Making people look great is a sweet job. Drama is not a job requirement.

Our People

Competitive pay. Health Insurance. Retirement Plan. Free haircuts, ongoing education, and promotion from within. We’re a “Top Workplace” because we put our people ahead of all else. Wear what you want and join the party.

Our Neighborhood

Every Birds reflects its community. Whether it’s cuts for a cause at a music festival, turning walls into free gallery space for artists or giving teachers a break at the register, we think local when it comes to giving back.

Extras Last

Shiner Beer, arcade games and great music are just a bonus at Birds. We’ve been named six times to Elle’s list of the 100 best salons in America and awarded Best Haircut by the Austin Chronicle every year since opening. Today, we employ more than 150 people in eight locations across Texas.
